Even the most hardcore roller coaster fans will probably think twice before getting strapped into Hershey Park's latest offering. The new Fahrenheit coaster, located in Pennsylvania, features a 97 degree drop right at the beginning of the ride. That's a drop seven degrees PAST vertical. The result of this is as you reach the precipice the track appears to temporarily disappear. Scary stuff.
As well as featuring a terrifyingly steep drop, the new coaster has six full inversions creating a total ride time of 2 minutes. This has led to it being billed as the most extreme roller coaster in the US. The closest you can hope to get to the white knuckle fun of Fahrenheit in the UK is Thorpe Park's Stealth. With a 86 degree maximum vertical angle and 0-80 mph acceleration in under two seconds Stealth is the UK's fastest roller coaster. Fahrenheit achieves a top speed of 58 mph, considerably slower than the 80+ mph Stealth offers.
If you fancy experiencing the intense Stealth experience for yourself, Play and Stay offer entry to Thorpe Park and an overnight stay in a comfortable nearby hotel, for a family of four for as little as £134. With a glorious summer forecast, now is the perfect time to test your metal against the UK's fastest roller coaster.
