Alton Towers Resort park areas

Adventure Land

Brave adventurers young or old will find themselves in their element in Adventure Land - the section of Alton Towers that (fittingly) allows you to get a real taste for adventure.

Forbidden Valley

This area was better known as Thunder Valley until 1994, when things began to stir during some routine excavation work. From the depths rose a colossal extraterrestrial beast, undisturbed for centuries, and understandably very, very angry that it had been awoken from its slumber. Immediately the military had the area sealed off, but they found the alien impossible to kill. Instead they trapped it in the valley with huge steel girders, which have since been bent and warped by the struggles of the creature. This is home to one of the UK's top roller coaster rides. Whilst the mighty alien still lurks in the valley, there is debris scattered all around the post apocalyptic landscape - testament to those who have tried, and failed, to tame the beast. The Forbidden Valley hosts some of the most nail-biting, exhilarating and breathtaking rides Alton Towers has to offers. Spin, fly and splash your way through this world beating theme park experience.

Old MacDonald's Farmyard

A popular area for families and the little ones. It's jam packed full of little rides and attractions well suited to children, and it has plenty of animals too. When you go to Old MacDonald's farmyard you're sure to have an e-i-e-i-o time!

The Towers and Gardens

The Towers and Gardens are home to great natural and man made beauty, as well as a dark secret locked within! This is where the whole Alton Towers story began, with the park springing up around the gardens from the 1980s onwards.

Towers Street

Towers Street is where you're magical journey at Alton Towers begins! There are shops galore, as well as places to eat. Saunter down the street and get a map, plan your visit and head off into the nation's top theme park!

UG Land

Prehistoric power runs through the rides found in Alton Towers' UG Land. Home to dinosaurs and awesome rides, with two of the park's biggest roller coasters located here.

X-Sector

Are you prepared to face your fears and see gravitational power at its limits? X-Sector at Alton Towers will take you to that limit and beyond with its host of extreme rides and mind-bending adventures. Step into a black hole and move on into Oblivion...

Mutiny Bay

A fantastical pirate-themed experience across the Alton Towers Resort, packed with marvellous rides for all the family.

Cloud Cuckoo Land

Brand new for the 2009 season at the Alton Towers Resort is Cloud Cuckoo Land, a superb environment for the younger kids amongst you. The all new land includes live entertainment and characters to meet and greet, a brilliant array of indoor soft play activities and, of course, a fantastic range of rides and attractions.
