The Towers and Gardens
The theme park's namesake: The historic towers, once the stately home of the Talbot family now in an eerie state of disrepair are open to the public for a fascinating tour of exploration. The main attraction here is Hex — The Legend of the Towers, a ride inspired by a local legend about the curse of the Earls of Shrewsbury. The beautiful landscaped gardens are a must-see when you visit Alton Towers. Feel free to explore the grounds, admire the scenery or even settle down and relax with a family picnic amongst the rolling lawns.
The first port-of-call for guests upon entering the park. With a hubbub of several shops, a box office and eateries Towers Street is a caricature of a real street in a quaint little town. It leads perfectly to views of the gardens, and the majestic Towers overlooking the vast lake. This is the place to find your official merchandise, and Fastrack passes etc.
The X-Sector is a sinister government facility and home to the terrifying Oblivion. With lots of metallic structures and amber beacons this is a place for only the brave and adventurous.
Yo-ho-ho! Alton Towers' Mutiny Bay is the family fun pirate themed land with galleons of fun and adventure for everyone! Sharkbait Reef takes you below the surface to explore the watery depths of a sunken ship and the beautiful exotic fish that now live within it-but beware of the sharks!
Cloud Cuckoo Land
Cloud Cuckoo Land is a topsy turvey, whimsical garden of bright colours over sized flowers! Its a fantastic place to get the kid's imaginations running and attractions include; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and indoor and out play areas. The excavation of an ancient burial ground has caused the area to seemingly be possessed by the frightening spirits the fateful dig has unleashed. TH13TEEN is the main attraction here; shrouded in mystery and fear, this ride has even affected old favourites like Rita, causing it to fall in a terrifying state of disrepair.
One of the park's smallest areas and home to Squirrel Nutty, Storybook Land is a great place for the kids to explore and meet their favourite squirrel!
