Smallest monkey in the world born in Dudley.
Keepers at Dudley Zoo recently spotted a new addition to their primate house when one of the resident pygmy marmoset's gave birth to a tiny male, now called Kurt.
The pygmy marmoset, also known as the Dwarf Monkey is native to the rain forests of South America and is the smallest monkey in the world. Adults are usually about 13 inches long (including their tail) and they generally weigh between 85 and 140 grams.
The keepers have said that the new arrival is doing very well and is settling in nicely with the rest of the members of the primate house.
