A weekend of interactive games on London's South Bank will see the launch of new social game Playmakers, which combines modern technology and playground instincts.
Developed by gaming organization Hide&Seek, in collaboration with NESTA and Ivo Gormley of Thinkpublic, the game will premier at the Royal Festival Hall Clore Ballroom on Saturday 1 August.
Visitors will get the chance to play the game at 1.30pm which involves players filming other teams without being caught on film themselves. Teams can rove around theatres, museums and art centres trying to record footage, but they must not get caught in the film of their opponents.
Playmakers will travel across the UK this autumn to Edinburgh, Cardiff, Stratford, Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, Southend, Nottingham, Sheffield and Newcastle, giving a wider audience the chance to play
Games developed by creative design company Sandpit will also feature over the weekend. People can expect to see a laser maze, a Mexican thumb wrestling game Pulgar Libre, and Moveyhouse a cinematic adventure. There will be an evening called Beyond Werewolf which will introduce players to dirty-dealing parlor games and on the Sunday the interactive games will be family-friendly.
