Estonia's Tallinn Zoo is giving two rare Amur leopard cubs to Marwell Zoo in Hampshire.
The leopard cubs were born in the Estonian Zoo last spring along with their brother Edgar, who will make his new home at Erie Zoo in the state of Pennsylvania in the US.
According to Mati Kaal, director of Tallinn Zoo, Amur leopards "all live in Amur, in an area surrounded by Russia, China and North Korea". They are now extinct and only about 50 are thought to be living in the wild, a product of human carelessness.
Tallinn Zoo has a good reputation for breeding and exporting rare animals. The only expectation from the receiving zoo is that they pay the transportation costs for the animals.
