Fifteen couples have simultaneously married on a rollercoaster.
The ceremony took place on the Orange Streak ride in the Nickelodeon Universal theme park at Minnesota's Mall of America . Couples were asked to climb on the ride and exchange vows and rings before take off. The ride reached speeds of 30mph as it travelled round the seven acre shopping mall.
While many people might find the idea a little odd, one 20-year-old bride was overjoyed at the chance of getting married in the place she met her husband. "It just kind of completed the circle," said Shanise Bowden.
The weddings were offered free of charge by the Chapel of Love, who are based in the mall, in celebration of 15 years in business. The first 15 people to book their special day on their website got the service absolutely free, a saving of $249.
One lucky couple also won a $1,000 shopping spree at the mall and plane tickets to Mexico for their honeymoon.
The Chapel of Love has married more than 5,000 people in the last 10 years and was recently named as one of the top 10 places to get married in America.
