2009 is already shaping up to be an extra-busy year at several of the UK's leading theme parks. Paultons, LEGOLAND® and THORPE PARK have all added new rides and attractions for the 2009 season.
New at Paultons from 14 March, 2009 is Edge, a 40-seater metal disc mounted on 92 metres of track. The unusual rollercoaster is the eighth of its type in the world and will reach speeds of up to 43mph with a G-force of up to 2.5 as it swoops along its undulating track.
Elsewhere, at LEGOLAND Windsor, an entire new land is opening. Kingdom of the Pharaohs promises to allow you and the kids to explore a forgotten LEGO tomb and experience several new rides and attractions suitable for all ages. Laser Raiders is the new interactive dark ride where you blast all manner of LEGO baddies with your very own laser gun and Scarab Bouncers is a jumpy new treat for the little ones.
If family fun is not really your thing and you prefer white knuckle thrills, SAW - The Ride is scheduled to open at THORPE PARK on 13 March, 2009. With a 100 foot drop at a 'beyond vertical' angle, video cameras mounted on the carts to capture your grimace as you plummet and a very exciting-sounding 'head chopper effect', SAW - The Ride may well be the biggest new ride of 2009.
With so many new rides and attractions popping up, there's never been a better time to revisit your favourite park or even try somewhere new.
