National Family Week
May 15, 2009
By Kelly Pentland
National Family Week is fast approaching with almost 2600 events taking place across the country.
This is the first event of its kind in the UK, so what's it all about?
According to the event's organisers, National Family Week has one aim - bringing families together - something we hold close to our hearts here at Play and Stay.
The week starts with a Guinness World Record attempt to have the largest ever picnic. With top picnic sites all across the UK, there are a lot of potential locations to choose from.
Also included in the week's events is a West End family day. This one day event is completely free and is sure to make you smile, with live performances from the cast of Thriller Live, dance classes from the choreographers of Oliver! and much more besides.
The week continues in much the same fashion with story time, sports day and film Friday bringing the family closer together.
National Family Week runs from 25 - 31 May, 2009. To find out what's happening in your area, check out the National Family Week website.
If you take part in any activities, send us an email and let us know how you got on. Who knows, you may even win a Play and Stay picnic rucksack.
