Located in a Tokyo shopping centre, Kidzania is a replica of a real-life town, just two-thirds the normal size.

Kidzania Tokyo

At this unique theme park children are given the opportunity to try their hand at various professions — they even get to wear little uniforms. Sponsored by and branded with the logos of household-name companies, the park has everything from shops, a bank and a garage.

The theme park's star attraction is the central body of a real 737 jet in the colours of All Nippon Airways. Children can try out the flight simulator or play the role of flight crew. Kidoz is the theme park's currency, rewarded to the budding professionals for their efforts.

Designed for children only, parents are banished to the viewing area leaving the park's supervisors to help the children in their new roles.

The idea for this unique theme park originated in Mexico. It arrived in Japan three years ago and the concept spread world-wide to Chile, Indonesia and Portugal.

Another park of this kind is to open soon in Dubai.
