Zoo keepers at London Zoo are using photographs to introduce female gorillas to a potential mate prior to his arrival from France.

 Gorilla Family

The three single female gorillas at London Zoo will soon be joined by Yeboah, a twelve-year old male gorilla from France.

Since London Zoo's male silverback gorilla, Bobby, died in December the three females Mjukuu, Effie and Zaire have lacked male attention.

Keepers at both zoos have been showing photographs of the potential partners to the gorillas in order to see whether an association will be made between the pictures and the animals faces upon meeting, the Daily Mail reports.

Tracey Lee, keeper at London Zoo, has expressed wishes that ten-year-old Mujukuu will be impregnated first as she is the most outgoing of the trio.

Yeboah will be flown over from La Boissière du Doré zoo in Western France to join the ladies shortly.
