Chester Zoo will run a complementary bus service in a bid to help visitors reach the zoo in a more environmentally friendly fashion.
The service will run on a trial basis all summer from Saturday 18 July to 30 August. It is scheduled to make the trip from Chester Railway Station to the zoo every hour starting from 9.30am until 6.30pm.
Chester Zoo's development director, Simon Mann, said that part of the reason for the trial is to support the zoo's green travel policy. He expressed hopes to make the bus service permanent on the basis of a successful trial period during the summer.
The 16-seater bus was provided by Chester-based company Busybus. Its exterior features animal prints and it is also wheelchair accessible.
Chester Zoo is located three miles from Chester Railway and is on 110 acres of land.
