Events at Chester Zoo

There are several great events lined up at Chester Zoo this year. There should be something for the whole family as the zoo has plenty planned to keep every month packed full of fun activities.

April

• Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th - Sensory Awareness Weekend - Enjoy animal talks with an interpreter and visual describers.
• Monday 21st to Friday 25th - St George's Celebrations! - Enjoy traditional English food and face painting with the real Dragons at the zoo.

May

• Monday 5th - Bank Holiday - Relax at Bank Holiday weekend with the morris dancers at Chester Zoo.
• Sunday 18th - Plant Conservation Day - Learn all about endangered plants on Sunday the 18th.
• Thursday 29th - Bats & Dragons Evening at Oakfield Manor - Have a delicious meal and take a tour with the keepers.

June

• Tuesday 3rd - Race for Life - Help break the fundraising target of £86,000 by taking part in the Race for Life.
• Sunday 15th - Father's Day - Treat Dad to a 3 course meal served in the Oakfield Manor Restaurant.
• Friday 20th - Midsummer Cycle - Come and take part in the cycle round Chester Zoo on Friday the 20th.
• Saturday 28th - A Night with the Carnivores!! - Learn all about the big cats.

July

• Friday 4th - Lazy Summer Evening - Experience an atmospheric evening at the Zoo celebrating the Year of the Garden.
• Thursday 10th - Tropical Realm & Giraffes Evening - Enjoy a meal, and then enjoy a tour from the zookeepers.
• Storytelling in the Zoo - A fun event for children, hear stories told by the safari explorers.

August

• Zulu Dancers - Entertaining guests on the Ark Lawn the Zulus are back by popular demand!
• Storytelling in the Zoo - Stories from the safari explorers make a return.
• Saturday 16th - Lazy Summer Evening - Another chance to experience a summer evening in the Zoo.
• Friday 8th to Sunday 24th - The Olympic Challenge - Find out all kinds of amazing records on the Olympic Challenge Evening.

September

• Thursday 4th - Elephant & Rhino Evening - Spend an evening with the zoo keepers learning all about these giant land animals.
• Storytelling in the Zoo - Stories from the safari explorers make a return.
• Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th September - Sensory Awareness Weekend - Another chance to enjoy animal talks with an interpreter and visual describer.

October

• Sunday 16th - Special Adopter Day - More information coming soon.
• Saturday 11th onwards - HallZOOween - Spooky treats await!
• Saturday 18th - Ghost Talks in Oakfield Manor - Enjoy a delicious meal and take in the mysterious ghost stories!
• Saturday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November Pumpkin Festival - There is nothing to be melancholy about here as there are loads of pumpkin themed events you're sure to adore at the festival. Enjoy the animal display that'll have everyone smashing pumpkins!
• Friday 1st November - Bats by Torchlight - The Chester Zoo keepers are here again to teach you all about the animals at the park.

November

• Mid November onwards throughout December - Chester Zoo Frost Fair - Festive, frosty and fun. All at Chester Zoo this November.

December

• Monday 1st to Wednesday 24th December - Christmas Lunch in Oakfield Manor - Be sure to book ahead for your Christmas lunch at the Zoo!
• Throughout the year - The Year of the Frog - Learn all about frogs throughout the year in the Joseph Banks room.
